Liz Palmer, Ph.D.

Liz holds the position of Senior Director of Quality for the Americas at Barry Callebaut, the #1 global supplier of cocoa and chocolate. With nearly fifteen years in manufacturing, she leverages her experience in quality, food safety, microbiology, regulatory and research & development. She holds a Doctorate in Food Science/Food Microbiology, and is a Certified Quality Auditor (CQA).

Liz balances business acumen with brand protection and innovation. She works to elevate quality and food safety through continuous improvement of best practices and improved operational methodologies. Liz works cross-functionally to lead teams through complex problem-solving to carve out actionable solutions that meet the dynamic demands of the businesses she has worked with.

Apart from her corporate responsibilities, Liz is a subject matter expert, trainer, and speaker within the food industry with a focus on regulatory compliance, food safety standards, microbiology, sanitation, innovation, quality systems and importantly, supporting other women in manufacturing/STEM fields. Liz endeavors to foster a culture of knowledge sharing and collaborative problem-solving, making contributions to the industry's ongoing dialogue on improving quality, food safety and diversity.
